  • For any true emergency, please call 911 or go to the closest ER.

We are open 7 days a week, from 7am-7pm. For any after-hours problems that can wait, you are welcome to leave us a voicemail or text, and we will get back to you the next morning.

  • If something comes up before your visit, please let us know and we are happy to reschedule your appointment. As long as you cancel at least an hour before your appointment, there is no cancellation fee. Canceling within the hour will incur a fee of $100.

  • SERVICE AREA & CARE WE PROVIDE

  • We cover Davidson County and Nashville. We will occasionally go outside this area, though there may be an additional travel fee.  Give us a call or a text and ask!

  • We see any typical non-life threatening urgent care problems. A few common examples of conditions we treat include cold and flu symptoms, ear pain, sore throat, cough, nosebleed, eye pain, laceration, abscess, headache, abdominal pain and sprain or strain. If you are not sure whether your condition is something we can care for, just ask.

To help you understand our full scope of care, here are a few examples of what we treat, the advanced care we provide and the conditions that require an ER visit.

  • Although our doctors are emergency medicine physicians, WE ARE NOT AN ER.

If you are having any of the following, you should call 911 or go to the closest ER: chest pain; weakness, dizziness, numbness, difficulty with speech, or other stroke-like symptoms; pregnancy complications or labor; severe shortness of breath; or severe pain of any type.

We do not provide pregnancy / pre-natal care.

At this time we cannot see patients that receive Medicare benefits. We are hoping to resolve this soon though, so stay tuned!

  • We carry and can administer most common urgent care medications, including steroid shots, antibiotic shots, nausea meds, etc.  We DO NOT carry (nor do we administer) narcotics, benzodiazepines, or any other controlled substances.

  • PRICING, PAYMENTS, & INSURANCE

  • No. Bluebird MD is a direct care practice, which means that all care and payment is directly between you and your doctor, with no middleman.  This allows us to give you the best care and simple, transparent pricing.

  • Direct care means that all of your care and communication are directly between you and your physician, with no middleman. Bluebird MD does not accept insurance for visits, which allows us to offer simple and transparent pricing with no hidden fees or surprise bills.

You are welcome to use your insurance for medications sent to your pharmacy, or for labs or imaging conducted outside your home. We also offer wholesale prices for many medications, lab tests and imaging studies, which are often lower than what you would pay through insurance.

Unlike many membership-based direct care practices, Bluebird MD is a direct urgent care practice that does not require any membership or monthly fee. You only pay for the visit you need at the time of service.

  • We accept credit card payments (including HSA cards), Venmo, and bank transfers.

  • The fee for a Telemedicine or At-Home Visit covers all physician care and any standard supplies we use (i.e. gloves, gauze, etc).  The fee for an At-Home Procedure Visit covers all physician care and all supplies used for the procedure (i.e. stitches, numbing medicine, splint, etc).

  • The only additional charges are for any (optional) lab testing, imaging, or medications - and you will be provided those prices ahead of time.

Bluebird MD has contracts for wholesale pricing, so that these costs are often substantially less than you would pay using insurance! We perform many of our lab tests right in your home and can administer common medications as well. Other testing is performed at local LabCorp or Premier Radiology facilities.

    A few examples of commonly-ordered tests/medications:

    • Complete blood count - $5

    • Comprehensive metabolic panel - $5

    • Steroid shot - $10

    • Rapid strep test - $5

    • Chest x-ray - $65

  • EMERGENCY, HOSPITAL, & FOLLOW-UP CARE

  • If our physician determines that you will need to be seen in the ER or admitted to the hospital, we will facilitate this in the most seamless way possible.  Rest assured that we will call ahead to the ER or hospital admissions to coordinate your care in these rare circumstances.

  • If our physician determines that you will need to be seen in follow-up by a specialist, we will make every effort to coordinate that for you. Bluebird MD has relationships with many specialists in the Nashville area and is happy to provide this service.
